California Tribal Athletics:
Lady Eagles Women's Basketball

Christian Chapman
Head Coach
Coach Chapman will be the first Women’s basketball coach in Sac Native Athletics History, as they launch this historic and groundbreaking season.
"I am beyond excited to be a part of such a unique and groundbreaking program. I want to thank Coach Floco who originally brought me here, as well as President Wood and Mark Orr (Athletic Director) for believing in me and trusting me to lay a foundation that will grow this program for years to come” says Chapman. "Having experience at every level from grassroots to NBA, my vision for this program would be to run and operate at a high standard and compete immediately in year one.”
Chapman brings extensive coaching experience at multiple levels of basketball.
This summer alone Coach Chapman is just getting off a stint working with Houston Rockets during NBA Summer League. Most recently, he served as top assistant coach at NCAA D2 Cal State Monterey Bay. During his time at MB, Coach Chapman saw success with helping in the development of All League Honoree Sarah Shaw, improving in both points and rebounds from previous year. Also notably helping former shooter Abbey Hadsel improve her 3pt % from 29% to 42% . In the year prior, he was associate head coach at San Jose City College, involved in all aspects of the program and helping the Jaguars win the CCCAA NorCal Regional with a 26–5 record in 2023.

Much of Chapman's expertise comes in the area of elite player development. He just finished working with Klutch Sports Agency working 2024 NBA Pre Draft with top college players who recently got drafted. During the summer he served as an assistant coach in the fast growing FIBA sanctioned Professional league Women’s Premier Basketball Association (WPBA) with “Bay City Blaze” who went 10-0 winning league championship August 2024. Coach Chapman is the founder and head of player development for the non profit “CC Skills Academy” specializing in skills development for youth to professional athletes. "I plan to help our ladies of the program become leaders on and off the court, and be able to represent their larger tribal community that will back them for the rest of their careers,” says Chapman.

Prior Experience

Houston Rockets Summer League
This summer, I was selected to help the Houston Rockets at NBA summer league following my time with clutch sports agency in Los Angeles. While I was in Las Vegas for the entire duration of Summer league, I helped with the day-to-day operations as well as game day coaching and management. This was a great opportunity for me and was able to work with professionals and be around other high level coaches.
