Game 1: Lady Eagles vs. Pacific Union College

Facing Pacific Union College for
the second time this season, the Lady Eagles came out firing on all cylinders, showcasing their depth and teamwork. From the opening tip, they controlled the game on both ends of the court. Nearly every player made it onto the scoring sheet, with all team members logging at least 10 minutes of action.
The Lady Eagles cruised to an 82-45 victory behind an all-around performance from Trezure Tuua, who was named Player of the Game. Tuua finished with 13 points, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds, setting the tone for the team’s defensive pressure.
Another highlight of the game was the return of Keshara Romain, fresh off her stint with the Virgin Islands National Team. Romain’s energy and experience added a spark as the team displayed their depth and chemistry.
Game 2: Lady Eagles vs. Simpson University
In Saturday’s matchup against the host school, Simpson University, the Lady Eagles faced a tougher challenge. Both teams had familiar faces on the rosters, the game was expected to be intense. With Simpson making the NAIA Cal Pac tournament last season they where experienced and poised.
Simpson came out red-hot, connecting on their best shooting performance from beyond the arc this season. Despite the Lady Eagles battling back in the third and fourth quarters, they couldn’t overcome Simpson’s early momentum, falling 53-65. The Lady Eagles showed resilience throughout the game and will undoubtedly use this as a learning experience moving forward.
Looking Ahead
The Lady Eagles demonstrated their potential at the Simpson Classic, with contributions from every player and flashes of brilliance on both ends of the court. They’ll look to bounce back and play UC Merced in their home opener this Wednesday 11/20/24!
